Welp, It's official. I've definitely been slacking off on updating my blog! Not a whole lot is new with me.. so I guess that may be why I haven't felt the need to update. I'm officially a BRUNETTE now. It was super weird at first and I didn't really like it that much at first, but i like it more and more every day. It was a process though, I must say. I went through 2.. or maybe 3 different colors before I got it to how I have it right now. The first time I did it... it wasn't quite as dark as I wanted it. But, here's how it turned out the first time. (sorry for the crappy phone pictures)
The second time, It turned out better, but it faded too quickly and ended up lighter than I wanted it still. Even though we used a filler!! Finally, the 3rd time I decided to go darker than I wanted it so that it would end up the color I wanted it to be when it faded. The first week or so.. it looked black. Haha not even exaggerating. It's still pretty dark, but you can actually see brown in it now... after like 2 or 3 weeks. I'm at work right now as I'm updating, so I don't have all my pictures with me. I do have one picture that is on my phone from the Arabian Horse show this year when my hair was basically black. But, the picture is sick nasty.. so just ignore my face. ;) This is a picture of me and my niece, Halle. Me and my mom brought her with us to the horse show. It was a fun girls day. Adam worked that morning and didn't really care to go to the horse show after he was off... so we went without him.
It was a horse kind of month I guess, because Lehi days was in February too!
My birthday was a couple weeks ago. It was pretty laid back on my birthday. Just had dinner with my family and adams parents came over too and we just hang out basically. The following weekend, me and Adam went to Red Lobster for my birthday to celebrate with just us two. Right around march seems like it is just the birthday month. So many people have birthdays in march.
Prettymuch since then, life has been pretty laid back. I have been trying to do hair for people a little bit more. So, that is coming along a little bit. The past few weeks, me and my husband have been watching "The Bible" on the history channel every Sunday leading up to yesterdays finale for Easter. I liked the show overall, but in some ways I didn't like it and it wasn't how I felt it should have been portrayed. In their version of the story, the characters who were suppose to be angels seemed almost to be a dark character.
When, in reality.. it should be a wholesome and happy character. When I imagine an angel, I don't imagine them looking that way. Every time they have been described in the Scriptures have been wearing white and are very heavenly beings. I don't see that there. That, and how some of the characters acted almost seemed prideful and weird. Especially Moses. I didn't like his character specifically for that reason. I don't know.. I just didn't feel like it was done as well as it could have been. It wasn't made by the LDS church though, so that could be why. I imagine the characters to be different for that reason, I guess. It was interesting reading an article based on the actor that played Jesus, though. I can't find the article to referance, but it was advertised on Yahoo's web homepage. Apparently in the scene where Jesus was hung on the cross, the man who played Jesus said it was "excruciating" being up on the cross and filming it, although he obviously wasn't REALLY nailed to the cross. I like how they used ropes to strap his arms to the sides of the cross too. I don't remember hearing about that in the real Bible. Tricky Tricky!
You can't see it very well, but this is the best picture I could find of it. Another funny thing that me and Adam noticed was that in the show, they showed them about to nail his feet to the cross.. but they were showing that the nail was being put into his ankles. Then later when he had died and was in the tomb, it shoes that it was on the top of his foot, not his ankle. NICE WORK. They also said that they had a "snake man" who was helping them on the set to get rid of all the snakes before they filmed to keep people from getting bitten. They had to remove..I don't remember exactly how many.. but at least 20 snakes that were around this scene.. by the crosses. Interesting how it worked out that way. I probably sound really critical, of the show, but hey.. it's just how I saw the show. Overall, it was still a touching story and made me want to cry. The LDS versions I've seen have gotten me more choked up, but it was definitely nice to see it portrayed with today's technology and effects. I don't think I would ever PAY to own it, but it was nice to see it at least for one time for free.
Another show that we have kind of been watching since the Bible started is "Vikings," which has been showing right after "The Bible" and I don't like it as much as Adam does. I don't really have a big opinion on it, but maybe it's just a man show. We use to watch "The Walking Dead" before "The Bible" came on. We missed the finale yesterday too. That show.. for those people who haven't seen it.. you have to watch it from the beginning so you understand the story line. It's not just zombies ripping people apart. Sometimes the show is kind of cheesy in that way, but they warm you up to it if you watch it from the beginning. I wouldn't want my future children watching it though. I would say it's definitely for mature audiences. It would probably give me bad dreams if i were still really young.
What else is new? Well, I got a new job! It was back in February, but I think that's still recent. I've just been slacking off on updates.. So I'm filling in the blanks. I'm currently working at Arizona Propane as an Accounts Receivable Data Entry Clerk. It's nice though, because it's closer than my other job (for now- I'll explain later).. and pays better.. etc. I really did like my job at Overson, but with being a newlywed and trying to save up for a house.. I needed something that could help out a little bit more. The only thing that kind of sucks is that right after I started working here, I came to find out that they are relocating... to Fountain Hills. Which kind of sucks.. but only adds like 5-10 min to my driving to work in the morning. Hopefully it will be OK in the long run, but I'm not too worried about it.
Me and Adam are trying to find him a new car now which we are trying to get before June. So, hopefully we can find something nice and affordable. I'm definitely excited to be on our own and have a house sometime hopefully in the near future. I'm excited to be a real wife and decorate the house and stuff. You know.. wifey stuff. I'm excited to be organized with everything, too. In my head.. I sort of imagine myself being kind of OCD about things, but we'll see how it works out. You never know until you're there, I guess.
Well, I think that's all I have to share for now. I will update later when I feel like I have more, I guess.
