Well, WE'RE MARRIED! We've been married for over a month now. Life is going great for us. Right now we are living at my parents house. They have a few extra bedrooms so we thought we would stay there and save up some money. I will admit, it's kind of nice having someone to come home to since Adam works later than I do. I would probably have to take up some wife-like hobbies like crafting or something. OR... there's netflix. Haha I'm sure after watching tv all the time, I will go NUTS so I'm glad this isn't the case and I have a family to come home to. Although, I am very excited to get our own house. I think that will make it really seem like we're married. Right now, it doesn't feel that different besides the obvious.. being together every night. Having our own house will make a big difference I'm sure.
So, last night I woke up at like 4am and I was wide awake and couldn't go back to sleep for what seemed like forever. After a few times of going to the bathroom to see if that would help, Adam asked me if I was doing ok and pulls me in and cuddles with me. Five minutes later.. I'm dead asleep and slept so good the rest of the night. I'm so glad that he's there for me not only so I could go back to sleep, but that we're together FOREVER. No. Matter. What. Oh, marriage is great. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us!
Now, the Temple pictures after we were married.......
I don't know where Candice was for these pictures.. but here are ALMOST all of the bridesmaids
Ok, So now for the details.. The wedding day was amazing. The temple is the best thing out there. I wish everyone knew how amazing it is. It's like nothing else. We got married at 12:00pm on 12/12/12. Yep, we just decided to keep going with that number. It worked out. ;) I got emotional in the temple especially because of everyone that came to support us. It was such a happy and spiritual experience.. I was so overwhelmed. I felt like I kept it all together until the ceremony was done and I got to hug everyone as they left the room. Then, I was a crybaby. You know that kind of cry where you are gasping for air cuz you can't breathe? Almost like you are hiccup-twitching while you cry? Yep, that's how it went. But it's fine. I loved it. Haha. I was especially lucky to have some of my close friends in there. A couple of my friends are already married so they were able to be in the temple. Then there were friends who had completed their missions and then there was my best friend Karlie who just barely got her mission call. She went through the temple just in time to go to my wedding. It was the best. I'm so grateful she was able to be there. In most cases, you can prettymuch expect that one of the girls wont see the other person get married cuz they wouldn't have been through the temple yet, but it worked out perfectly. Such a blessing.
A couple of my friends were also there who are already married were able to be there- my friend Candice and Monica! I'm so excited for my other friends to be able to experience the temple and be sealed to their husbands. Me and Adam haven't had the chance to go back yet, but I really want to and experience that again. I'm sure it won't be as special as last time since we were sealed for us. Next time it will be for someone else, but we can reflect back on it. I'm definitely looking forward to it if we can ever find the time to go. Adam works a lot right now so we can save up money quicker. He's been doing a lot of overtime on top of his long shifts. I guess it's about time I get a night job. I probably will once we get a house, or if I get bored.
Ok, so now to fill all you guys in on life the last month. To start, the wedding was AMAZING and it went by so fast. When I talk to people about their weddings, a lot of people seem to always say how being in the line forever SUCKS. I, however thought it went by really quickly and wasn't hard at all. I had plenty of energy and had an amazing time at our reception. It was just as I always hoped it would be. Everything went smoothly and I wouldn't have changed anything.
I had some gorgeous bridesmades! I love them all so much! My sister was the maid of honor. Originally, she had the same skirt as all the rest of the girls, but when we ordered them, My friend sejal (who was the first to order her skirt) got jewed out of getting hers somehow. Everyone elses skirts shipped except hers and they kept recharging her for her skirt several times. Eventually, we came to the conclusion that my sister should have had something different anyways since she is the maid of honor.
She came up with the idea to make her own skirt which was similar to the skirts we ordered, except just a little different. It turned out great along with everything else my sister helped out with. She did so much for the wedding planning and things pertaining to the wedding. I could probably never make it up to her. She even made our cake! How crazy is that? Her first wedding cake, but it turned out GREAT and she should probably go pro. Haha she's such a mom and creative anyways so she comes up with some amazing stuff. Our photographer who did all of our pictures; engagements and wedding pictures, was actually my sister in law, Chandra Goodman. She is one amazing woman as well. She has been going through chemotherapy and was still willing to help us out with everything.
She's pretty awesome, so be sure to check her blog out by clicking on her name. It will lead you straight to her photography information. We had so much help from family and friends with everything. That includes preparation, bridal shower, bachelorette party, dress alterations, catering, bouquets, boutineers, and probably so much more. I'm so grateful for amazing friends and family who have helped us out and continue to help and support us.
And, of course we couldn't do it without our parents. My mom designed all of the bouquets and boutineers. She did great as well!. Our parents brought us here and raised us to be who we are today. Then we met.. fell in love.. and now we're married. Couldn't do it without them. I'm so grateful and proud to be part of Adams family now. I look forward family events with our families and someday our own family.
Anyways, enough of my ranting on that.. here's some of the pictures that were taken at the reception of the set up as well as the groomsmen..
We got a coupon from David's Bridal for shutterfly that we ended up using for our guest sign in book.We just printed engagement pictures into the pages of the book and had people sign on the borders. It turned out pretty nice.
This is the set up for the picture slideshow which my sister ALSO put together. And.. my grandparents taking a rest watching the video. It just so happens that in the picture that is showing on the screen.. was taken while we were visiting them in Pinetop. I just thought it was convenient that it was taken on that slide.
The lady who did the alterations on my wedding dress also has a catering company, so she did our catering. The food and my dress turned out great as well!
Yet another couple of my family members who helped out.. my brother Brandon and his wife Jennifer were willing to help us out with DJing. I put the playlist together and they just coordinated the music and told were the voice on the microphone to tell everyone when things were happening. They did great.
Then, came the cake cutting time.. I made sure ahead of time to be very clear that I wanted our cake cutting and feeding experience to be CLEAN. We did well. :)
I am so grateful for my dad and all he has done for me. He is such an amazing father and he probably doesn't understand how much I appreciate him and all he has done for me growing up. I look up to him so much and I hope I can someday be as awesome of a parent as him and my mother have been to me.
I was pleasantly surprised on how many people danced during the open dancing part of our reception. That's something I love about receptions.. not just mine.. any reception.. it almost freshens up the love that couples have between each other. If it were me.. already married.. dancing with Adam at someones reception, I would probably be reflecting back at our first dance. It's definitely something I love witnessing at receptions.
The kids seemed to have fun as well. I knew that my neices and nephews love to dance to the song from Madagascar titled "I like to move it move it" So we made sure to play that for the kids. It was a hit.
For the bouquet toss, my first throw ended up hitting the ceiling, but the 2nd throw was successful. Haha my best friend Karlie ended up catching it. Which, it's a good thing that catching the bouquet doesn't actually mean you are the next to get married.. cuz Karlie still has to serve her 18 month mission. Meaning.. all you girls who failed to catch it.. you have at least 18 more months. Haha but, it's not true cuz my good friend London Heywood is engaged now!
The garter toss was pretty interesting. I don't know where all of Adam's friends were for this, but there was like 3 guys who were even there to try and catch the garter.
Yet, it was still eventful..
One of our friends, Matt Gallego ended up catching the garter.
Not only did we celebrate our marriage that day.. but also my brother Tanner's birthday. We felt bad that we chose his day for our own, but we did take the time to have everyone at the reception sing to him.
I think he enjoyed the attention.
Then, my friend Sejal's brother Shan ended up spilling the water. The camera girl happened to be there to catch the moment. It was convenient.
And then.. we were off.
While we were there, we did a lot of walking. It was really windy while we were there too, which made the weather seem that much colder.
We ended up walking over to the Stratosphere which seemed like the LONGEST walk ever in the cold wind.
On the way over there, we stopped to check out the roller coasters at Circus Circus. We planned on going to ride the rides on the stratosphere, so we wanted to warm ourselves up for the crazy ride we were about to go on at the stratosphere. We ended up riding one inside the Adventuredome in Circus Circus which was fun!
When we finally got to the stratosphere.. I was freaking scared for my life to go on the rollercoasters. up there. It is WAY up there. To give you a better idea, here are some pictures we took inside the top of the Stratosphere which were right by the roller coasters..
The ride we ended up riding was like a teeter-totter kind of motion. It hung over the edge of the TOP of the building. While you ride this ride, you can't see the end of the tracks when you are looking over the edge of the building, or the edge of the building for that matter.
I was really happy to be safe and done with that ride.
While we were in Vegas, we also visited the Wooden Spoon Buffet. It was inside the Cosmopolitan. We were told by Adams brother, Trevor that it was really good and that we should try it. It was worth it for sure. Our favorite thing there was the Angry Mac & Cheese. It's no ordinary Mac&Chs. It's great.. look it up on pinterest or something. It's on my list of things to try and make. Other than that, we just did a lot of sight seeing and walking around and stuff. It was really fun. It will be nice to be able to go back there sometime in the future too and reflect back especially since we picked somewhere close!
Since then, we have been living at my parents house. Married life is going great! I work full time right now as well as Adam. He works a lot more hours though, collecting overtime. I picked such an amazing hard working handsome man! I'm so lucky.
Since our marriage, a lot of my friends and family have been taking some big steps in their lives as well. To start in order.. London got engaged! I'm so excited for them and that I have gotten to witness them grow into almost being married! I know of someone who got pregnant that I'm really excited for, but won't reveal the name yet because they haven't told everyone yet. Next person would have to be my sister! She surprised us all and ended up telling us she has been pregnant since before halloween! She is one the skinniest and petite people ever so we were all SUPER surprised that she was able to keep it from us for so long. She told us AFTER she already knew what she was having. She's having a girl! They have 2 boys, so it's pretty exciting. This is what we didn't notice at our wedding somehow.
She sucked in her belly for the wedding so that no one would know. Then, at home just wore loose clothing and sweatshirts so no one would notice. It's funny because a while before she told us that she was pregnant, I was at the park with my family.. I think it was on New Yrs Eve.. and Rachel brought up this story: a while back when I was at the park with Rachel, we were swinging on the swings and she made a comment saying something about how she wondered if it were bad to swing while being pregnant like it is to be on a roller coaster. She then stopped swinging. I didn't think about it at all being a clue to anything. Not too long after that, she revealed she was pregnant. I'm not sure if it was with Wyatt or Keaton. But anyways.. so while we are there this time, she brought it up.. and yet again stopped swinging. And I didn't notice AGAIN. It's funny, but I'm really excited for her and her family to grow once again! I'm excited to experience that some day. It's funny how almost right after you get married, everyone starts asking you if you are pregnant or have a bun in the oven. Well.. just to let you all know, we probably wont be shooting to have any kids at least till we have our own house. Who knows when that will be.
Anyways, the next exciting thing that has come up with friends and family is that my good friend Summer Allen got her mission call! She opened it last night and Reports to St. George, UT April 24 to serve in the visitors center for 18 months. I kind of thought she would go in the states somewhere.. just wasn't sure where. It's crazy.. all these girls going on missions now! I know another person who is getting their call sometime in the next few days as well, but I don't know if it's a secret, so I wont say yet. I'm so happy and proud of my friends for where they are all at in their lives. They're doing so well and I can't wait to see what the future holds for everyone! It's crazy that we're all where we are at. We all use to be the group of girls that you ALWAYS saw together all the time at things.. now, we're all moving on and growing up. I love my family and friends and all they do for me and that they brought me here to where I am today, MARRIED to the best man in the world!
